He is the Gift

Irvine is fantastic! I am loving the weather and the people here! I am in a tripanionship, with Sister Bullard and Sister Ferrel. They are amazing!
We had a baptism on Saturday for Amanda. It was so cool to get to know her and help with the last couple of lessons leading up to her baptism. She is so firm in her testimony and a great example of faith and love. Her parents aren't members, but she knows the gospel will bless her life, so she got baptized. I loved it when she received the gift of the Holy Ghost. What an incredible gift that we can receive!
We are in a YSA ward and a family ward. The college is in our boundaries, and so we contacted there as well, and that was neat.
Tagalog is still coming along. Each day I get some study time, and GUESS WHAT! We have a few Filipino people who we can teach, and I can converse in Tagalog with them. This week we should be able to meet some of them.
I hope you all have a great Christmas! I am so grateful that "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son." (John 3:16) I know that Christ is our Savior and that through Him, we can find peace and hope and become more like Him. He is the reason for my joy! He is the Gift!
I love you all!

Love,
Sister Keeley

This week was another great week at the MTC!
Tagalog is great. We taught our investigator the word of wisdom this week. Then, the next visit, I tried to ask him, "Did you drink alcohol?" but instead said, "What do you think about children?" Haha he was so confused! I've almost memorized the first vision though, so that's good!
Sister Joy D. Jones and her husband spoke to us Tuesday. Recently, the Book of Mormon and its importance has been stressed. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that we will "get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” (Intro to the Book of Mormon). A few devotionals ago, we were asked to come prepared with our favorite Book of Mormon scripture. I had a favorite scripture, but it was not in the Book of Mormon, so I went searching for a favorite Book of Mormon scripture. I decided that I absolutely love 1 Nephi 11:16-17! Nephi is having a vision and talking with an angel. "16 And he said unto me: Knowest thou the condescension of God? 17 And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things." I definitely have a lot of things I don't know, but one thing I do know and testify of is that God loves us. He loves us so much! He gave us His son because He loves us! I was feeling a little out of it yesterday, and praying. Then my companion randomly turns to me and says, "You know, God loves you a lot." Oh, how I needed to hear that precious truth again! God testified to my heart that it was true. He loves us so much! I am so grateful that He gives us prophets and the Book of Mormon. I know that if we have a question, we can ask of God. By reading the Book of Mormon, we invite the Spirit and answers into our lives. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, and I love it so much! What is your favorite Book of Mormon scripture?
Totoo ang Aklat ni Mormon! Kung magbabasa po kayo ng Aklat ni Mormon, magiging mas masaya at mas katulad ng Cristo po kayo.
(The Book of Mormon is true! If you read the Book of Mormon, you will become more happy and more like Christ.)
I love you all! I'm so excited for Christmas and to LIGHT THE WORLD again! I am so grateful for my Savior!
Love, Sister Keeley

Angels Among Us

Hey all!
This week at the MTC I have been ministered unto by countless angels. "God put me in the midst of angels, He put me among men. Maybe they're not so very different, maybe they're one and the same." Not all of them were seen, and some went almost unnoticed. To name a few:

Sister Fitkin, my companion, is the sweetest ever and has so much faith. She is a convert of a 20 months, and is good stuff. She helps me to laugh and be happy.

Grandpa Cuthbert. It may seem funny to list him, as he was not here, but I shared part of his story with my companion. Later, God brought it to my remembrance in a time when I needed a little extra boost. His story helped me to see the Atonement of Jesus Christ IS for me and for everybody, and it changes lives. The gospel of Jesus Christ is glorious!

Grandpa Art Keeley. I felt his presence keenly as I mingled my voice with hundreds of other missionaries in singing How Great thou Art. He was here helping me that day.

Great Grandpa Keeley. Fanny Crosby wrote "Behold a Royal Army." She became blind at a young age, yet she went on to memorize many books of the bible by the time she was fourteen, and she gloried in God. Grandpa was not blind, but he was deaf. However, he served endlessly and loved much. He was here too.

Grandpa Rowan. His words of encouragement before I left gave me encouragement throughout the week.

Great Grandpa Aagard. I tried to work hard and find joy like he did this week. I drew comfort from his story.

Katie Keeley. I got a letter from her, and I almost didn't notice it. It was the sweetest letter ever, and I felt her love and God's love for me.

And, the most recent of all, Great Grandma Deone. We went to the temple, and one of the temple workers looked just like her. I couldn't with hold my joy and my tears. When I was almost done there, she gave me a hug. It was a hug from an angel. Oh, how I love my angels!

I feel in my heart and mind that this gospel blesses families. It is for everyone, and "God gave us families to help us become what He wants us to be. This is how He shares His love, for the family is of God."

There were many other angels, but there are too many to list here. I testify that we are surrounded by angels. We may not see them, or we may see them and not realize it, but God sends them to us and He loves us so much. His tender mercies abound.

I love you all! Love, Sister Keeley
